Associate Manager, Sourcing Operations

Purpose and Scope:To serve in a product development and production process improvement role on the Sourcing Operations team.  Responsible for process definition, adherence, and socialization between product development and production teams.  This person will also help define and implement KPIs in order to create greater transparency and visibility to the sourcing organization’s performance. Role reports to the Director of Sourcing Operations.

Responsibilities:

·      General Management

o  Foster strong relationships within product development and production teams

o  Establish sourcing operational credibility in order to effectively communicate new process changes

o  Provide process development expertise to support business process design and documentation

o  Regularly review process/tool adoption and effectively resolve roadblocks

o  Provide analytical support to determine the root cause of process issues 

o  Support operational strategic initiatives 

·      Product Development Process Management

o  Understand new calendar milestones and handoff points needed to achieve transformational change objectives

o  Develop and monitor detailed process steps needed to meet calendar milestones

o  Develop metrics to report on process adherence within product development and production teams

o  Provide status updates to management, escalating risks and offering remediation options

·      Sampling Management

o  Provide analytical support to manage sample spend reduction targets by breaking down budgets to manageable targets and metrics

o  Develop metrics to monitor in-season adherence to goals for sample and spend management

o  Develop, manage, and communicate sample spend policies

o  Develop and manage scorecards to report adherence by vendors, mills, and internal departments

o  Develop and direct process to ensure invoices are validated and processed efficiently

 

Education/Experience:

·      Bachelor’s degree required. 

·      Minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytical role, preferably within a Sourcing organization

·      Minimum of 1 year of experience working in the apparel industry

·      Strong track record of project delivery and benefits realization

·      Experience in implementing projects and initiatives in a self-directed manner

·      Experience with large scale organization transformations a plus

 

Skills/Abilities:

·      Detail-oriented, analytical and results-driven problem solver

·      Skilled in executive reporting and dashboarding 

·      Excellent communication skills 

·      Ability to work in a fast paced environment with ambiguity and  limited oversight

·      Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other analytical reporting packages

·      High proficiency in PowerPoint
