Training Manager - Lynchburg, VA (Ecommerce Distribution Center)
 

The Training Manager is an active member of the Operations team, driving and supporting building wide initiatives. Successful candidates will have a creative, true hands-on approach, as well as strong knowledge of warehousing/manufacturing, instructional design, Learning Management Systems and data-driven, analytical thinking skills. The Learning Manager will actively manage a team of training specialists throughout their deployment, development and productivity at J.Crew’s Ecommerce Distribution Center.  They will act as a proactive and productive liaison/partner with the Corporate Operations Learning Department consistently seeking to make a positive impact on key business safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience metrics.    Candidate must have 5+ years related Inventory & Quality Assurance Management experience in addition to the training experience.

 

Requirements

  • Creates, implements, and facilitates training programs for associates, managers, trainers and others (i.e., participating in and conducting needs analysis, skills development classes, cross-training, etc.)
  • Creates, manages and update training content and associate compliance audits
  • Administers methods for gathering and tracking training metrics   
  • Communicates policies and procedures to managers and new employees as needed. 
  • Creates/updates accurate/useful training materials for Training schools, PMVs, Standard Work, POPs, and other training aids/visuals 
  • Understands workflow, daily production goals and reports used to drive business by reacting    quickly and efficiently to production imperatives, scheduling conflicts and network-wide rollouts 
  • Drives best practices standardization across all departments and sites  
  • Develops and implements effective training materials by utilizing a variety of media
  • Partners with subject matter experts to drive innovative training solutions which impact business metrics and organizational effectiveness
  • Evaluates program effectiveness and makes necessary modifications as needed

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field – preferred professional certifications is a plus (Certified Professional in Learning and Performance)
  • 5+ years related Inventory & Quality Assurance Management experience
  • 5+ years of Training/Learning Management in preferably a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience with the Warehouse Management Systems
  • Ability to create training materials: eLearning courses, facilitator guides and participant workbooks
  • Self-motivated individual comfortable speaking in large groups and with all levels of management (peers, hourly associates, and senior management)
  • Flexible to work ALL shifts as needed
  • Coaches and delivers messages related to performance
  • Develops and implements department goals and strategies based on broader organization goals
  • Interprets data analytics
  • Excellent stand–up delivery and facilitation skills as well as interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required, including use of lookups and pivot tables as well as MS office suite
  • Excellent Effective presentation and persuasion skills
  • Desire to thrive in a dynamic and growing environment
  • Adapts well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
  • Demonstrates ability to operate independently while meeting deadlines with limited supervision
