J.Crew Desktop Support Analyst  (Seasonal)


The primary responsibility of the Desktop Support Analyst is to provide endpoint and general electronic device support from both a hardware & software purview, dispatch service requests, and work with appropriate escalation points as defined by the policies within the Information Technology department.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Setup, configure, and maintain an array of endpoint devices & peripherals.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as user account management, access delegation, report creation, system monitoring, and application deployments.
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and implement corrective action in regard to technical issues.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify the nature of technical issues and escalate/assign to appropriate teams.
  • Demonstrate ability to operate in fast-paced environment and cater to multiple types of environments (e.g. Distribution Centers, Contact Centers, Stores, and Corporate Offices)

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field is preferred, or equivalent experience in a technology-related field.
  • Must have 2+ years experience as a Helpdesk technician or in a role demonstrative of ability to provide tier 2 support to enterprise environment.



Technical Skills & Abilities

Microsoft Windows & Microsoft Office Applications:

  • Strong foundation in Microsoft Windows & Microsoft Office environments
  • Microsoft Windows 7-10, Microsoft Office 2010-2016, Office 365


Active Directory:

  • User & group administration for Windows domain networks. User password resets, user account modification, and user group membership management
  • Group Policy. Ability to prepare, test, and deploy Group Policy Objects


Patching/Software Deployments:


  • Apply patches, hotfixes, and maintenance releases for Windows OS environments
  • Create software deployments for endpoint devices in an enterprise environment.

Security Tool Management:

  • Experience w/ managing anti-virus & malware software for endpoint devices. E.g. Symantec Endpoint Protection / MalwareBytes

Desktop Imaging:

  • Imaging via Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and/or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) a plus



  • DHCP – Understanding of DHCP and ability to manage DHCP-enabled clients in environment with multiple scopes.
  • DNS – Understanding of DNS and ability to appropriately create and modify records as needed
  • Working knowledge of switches (network patching) & firewall configuration (client-level)
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP network protocols
  • Working knowledge of command-line troubleshooting a plus


NTFS File Systems \ Distributed File System (DFS) \ Network File System (NFS):

  • Manage sharing permissions for drives and folders based on NTFS
  • Manage network-based resources through DFS/NFS.
  • Plus+: Experience with Batch & PowerShell scripting for task automation and facilitation.
  • Plus+: Experience with SCCM administration. Endpoint device patching, software deployments, user & device collection management, and utilizing reports/queries as needed.
  • Plus+: Experience with Microsoft Exchange environments. User mailbox creation and modification. Understanding of SMTP & POP3 protocols.
  • Plus+: Experience working with Symbol RF devices (handheld barcode scanners) and specialty production printers (Zebra & Printronix) as part of warehouse picking and processing operations.
  • Plus+: Experience with cloud services such as Citrix, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Plus+: Experience working with RaspberryPi / thin client devices based on Linux OS.


Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday (2nd Shift hours - 1pm- 9pm M-F)
  • Seasonal with possible opportunity to become full-time
