The first Madewell store opened in 2006, fast forward to today and our brand has 127 locations and a thriving online business. Now offering both women’s and men’s, denim is at the core of everything we do.

 

Madewell is looking for a highly motivated problem solver to develop and execute innovative in-store campaigns and create best practices for marketing workflow and cross-functional management. This role will be tasked with managing the marketing calendar and ensuring we’re crafting cohesive and compelling programs that acquire, engage, grow and retain our valuable customer base. The ideal candidate is curious about how the Madewell customer thinks, shops, and makes choices.  

 

The Brand Marketing Manager will lead all department operations through managing the marketing calendar and working with cross-functional partners across the business to drive projects. They will be focused on in-store marketing and tasked with spearheading programs that connect the store with the online experience, as well as drive brand differentiation in the retail landscape. 

 

The right candidate is organized and comfortable with managing a calendar and multi-tasking, they also will need to have a collaborative nature to bring together key stakeholders across business units in order to align on and test new initiatives that are innovative and align Madewell’s strategic goals. S/he will be accountable for the in-store marketing strategy, will own store communications and manage elements of the broader marketing planning process and budget management.

 

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensure Madewell stands out as a leader in the retail landscape by creating campaign based and ongoing in-store marketing programs that drive brand differentiation and demonstrate superior customer service. 
  • Work cross-functionally with merchandising, creative and field teams to identify areas of opportunity to evolve the store experience then create and execute the initiatives.  
  • Manage cross-functional planning process for the marketing calendar and content schedule. Work closely with members of the marketing team to create a cohesive omni-channel strategy that supports business and brand goals. 
  • Lead email planning process for the marketing team/
  • Oversee store collateral and printed marketing pieces across channels including signage, customer and employee education pieces and special offers.  
  • Manage in-store promo strategy including signage and communication of marketing intiatives to field team.
  • Work closely with J.Crew Group wholesale team on Madewell marketing asks for partners, liase with creative team to brief and deliver all assets.
  • Establish KPIs and develop reporting frameworks to measure in-store program effectiveness and performance.
  • Maintain an annual budget.
  • Support marketing team with ad-hoc projects, reporting and analysis.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 4-6 years of work experience 
  • Budget/revenue management experience and/or store marketing experience is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, creative, out of the box thinker and an ability to maximize a limited budget
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational/Project Management skills required
  • Adaptability and multi-tasking capability, with solid time management
  • Thrive in an environment of changing situations and priorities 
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of data and develop hypotheses which are both practical and effective
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a collaborative environment and dynamically align to changing business conditions

  • Understanding of the Madewell customer and passion for the brand
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (modeling, v-lookup, pivot tables) and PowerPoint
