RESPONSIBILITIES

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

 

  • Assist Technical Designer in technical fittings by preparing samples and taking notes, in order to execute the technical fitting process
  • Ability to process tech packs that record accessory and footwear construction and fit.  Accessory categories include:  handbags, belts, slg’s, jewelry, scarves, socks, blankets, hats, cosmetic bags, tech, hair, sunglasses and sunglass cases
  • Measure incoming samples against specs in design cards; update design card specs as needed
  • Ability to process tech packs that record construction and fit 
  • Responsible for flow of information related to fit process, such as updating tech log, sending fit comments, and communicating with factory counterparts
  • Ability to measure samples precisely
  • Basic Illustrator sketching
  • Track and maintain record log of all samples
  • Maintain organization of sample closet
  • Filing and clerical management of Technical Design area

 

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

 

  • Communicates verbal and written content accurately and in a timely manner with others (including vendors, merchants, production and design)
  • Work with field/vendor representatives and directors to resolve issues

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design
  • Recent graduate to 1-2 years experience in Technical Design or in a related field that emphasizes fit, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Knowledge of accessory and footwear construction methods
  • Knowledge of structural and decorative trims
  • Basic knowledge of fit, balance and patternmaking
  • Proficient in PC applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook Express and Adobe Illustrator
  • Adaptive to a multi-tasked environment.
