A successful candidate would be an energetic, highly motivated team player who enjoys working with all levels of management and associates in a dynamic distribution environment to minimize risk and foster a healthy safety culture. This is a highly visible role, requiring the incumbent to oversee all training, interact and communicate with various levels of the business.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Work with site and regional management to ensure compliance with J. Crew strategic initiatives and applicable federal & state OSHA regulations
  • Partner with operations to conduct incident investigations, behavior based safety audits, facility inspections
  • Facilitate onboarding of new Associates and monthly compliance training
  • Conduct job safety analysis to include existing job functions, process changes or new equipment
  • Maintain accurate safety metrics to report to site and regional management
  • Participate in monthly safety committee meetings and other focus group meetings
  • Track improvement activities in safety database and manage action items to completion
  • Support fire prevention, emergency response and other safety related activities as assigned


Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred
  • OSHA training and experience in distribution/warehouse environment
  • One to three years of training program management experience
  • Previous experience working in a Distribution Center / Warehouse / Manufacturing environment preferred


Skills & Abilities:

  • Energetic and personable, must enjoy interacting with people, training and presenting in a group setting
  • Independently motivated to look for additional opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate and maintain positive working relationship with the operations team
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong administrative, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge/proficiency with all Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)


Physical Requirements:

  • Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, climb stairs and stoop for up to 8 hours at a time
  • Ability to work around moving machinery/equipment (i.e. sorter)
  • Stand for duration of work shift and walk/move continuously
  • Adjust to climate changes; hot and cold extremes may occur in warehouse
  • Ability to type and read computer screen
