North American Logistics Manager

The Global Logistics Team is responsible for the transportation and distribution of merchandise through J.Crew’s multi-channel supply chain.  The Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects North America Logistics as well as Export Logistics for our global store footprint.  This will include managing a small team who will work closely with internal and external business partners.  Crucial relationships include Store Operations, Planning and Allocation, Distribution as well as 3PLs and logistics companies.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Be a Leader in the J. Crew Supply Chain Team! Engage in cross-functional activities and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills in all areas both managed and supported
  • Maintain high functioning team of Logistics professionals through continual training and development
  • Manage all aspect of Transportation & Logistics including deconsolidation, transload, DC bypass, truckload, LTL, Parcel and Pool Store Delivery, monitor performance, proactively identify root cause and implement improvement opportunities
  • Monitor forecasted and actual volumes throughout the supply chain from origin to final delivery
  • Manage 3PL and carrier's capacity to ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain performance and financial reporting responsible areas and continually work to improve performance and drive cost efficiency in the network
  • Develop formal carrier scorecards and conduct timely business reviews with all partners
  • Evolve existing tools for supply chain visibility based on experience and learnings from role
  • Develop and maintain SOP’s for each functional area
  • Interface with Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, and Production teams to identify important deliveries and resolve issues
  • Perform track and trace through various sources of high priority store and online products on order
  • Communicate issues effectively and ensures that issues are resolved in a timely manner

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience with focus on project management, cross functional implementation, and supply chain operations
  • Supply chain management, customs, 3PL, and retail, especially fashion/soft lines, experience a plus
  • Microsoft Office skills required with strong Excel and Access skills preferred
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally

Physical Requirements:

  • An office position which requires minimum lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, bending, walking, climbing stairs, standing and stooping
  • Sit in a chair at a desk most of the time
  • Ability to type and read computer screen
  • Office environment within a Distribution Center / Warehouse environment
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed
