Senior Manager – J.Crew Strategy

 

Overview

J.Crew Group has established a Strategy & Business Development Team with the primary objective of defining the strategic direction behind all brands & identifying new avenues (& platforms for future growth). The primary purpose of J.Crew Strategy Role is to lead the J.Crew (& Factory) brand’s strategy development in coordination with the Leadership Team & Head of Strategy. You will play an integral role in executing on the new brand positioning & long rangeplan. You will partner to develop the strategic framework, evaluate key strategic choices and resource allocation, and translate the strategy into a financial algorithm with performance tracking KPIs.  You will be responsible for helping to establish and manage the initiatives and capabilities which J.Crew Brand needs to compete effectively and to deliver future growth & long range plan. This role will help to bring together the right customer insights and analytics to vet all strategies and capabilities and ensure they deliver on customer expectations. This role will be a key leader in strategic change initiatives to drive growth.

 

Responsibilities

• Develops business strategy at brand level centered on the customer

• Partner and lead transformation efforts in partnership with the leadership team & head of strategy

• Identify and deconstructs business issues and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to evaluate

• Articulates clear and compelling storylines that drive action

• Structures and monitors the work of multiple groups and projects

• Partners closely with Finance to drive the right strategic decisions and investments, including the annual planning process

• Translate the strategic plan into key initiatives with measurable KPIs at a brand & functional level;monitor and track delivery against these initiatives

• Develop and update the strategic framework of the brand that goes across channel, consumer, and competitor

• Tie in the strategic framework and insights into the brand financial framework

• Refine and develop the brand’s business development strategy

• Project planning, management, and implementation

• Proactively identify and filter brand issues and opportunities engage in root cause analysis, best practice sharing, cross-functional strategic gaps, and opportunities & process gaps and opportunities

 

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree

• 6+ years of experience with deep knowledge of apparel, retail, customer, and digital.

• Background in Strategy consulting or part of corporate/brand strategy function within a large corporation

• Outstanding strategic and problem-solving skills; proven ability to establish oneself as a thought-leader

• Proven track record to succeed in an ever changingenvironment

• You can self-manage and prioritize in a fast pacedenvironment

• Ability to synthesize sophisticated information, form a sharp point of view, and communicate it in a relevant way to different audiences

• Strong communication skills (Written & Verbal)

• Intellectually curious with a dedication to go the extra mile

• Collaborative attitude with a team-first approach

• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

• Project Management Mindset

• Ability to handle multiple priorities

• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
