Maintenance Mechanic

Core Responsibilities:

  • Report to work as scheduled for the entire shift as assigned.
  • Work in an efficient and safe manner with little guidance.
  • Complete all necessary safety and maintenance required training
  • Work to improve and develop Industrial Maintenance Technician skills and abilities for future advancement opportunities
  • Learn and execute 6S strategies throughout the facility
  • Set up new equipment by specifications
  • Perform basic welding and fabrication
  • Complete PM projects as assigned including the power equipment PM program and associated records
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and complete PM material handling equipment (sorter, conveyor, etc.)
  • Log activities into the Maintenance Status File
  • Work with team members in support of process improvements and cost reductions
  • Assist with training associates on lift equipment
  • Understand team objectives within assigned work area
  • Apply basic skills and procedural knowledge within assigned work area
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or team leader



  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous maintenance experience required including, but not limited to performing PMs on all equipment including lift equipment (order picker, forklift, etc.) and conveyance systems; reading flow charts, schematics, and blueprints; working with electronic test equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics; welding, fabrication, and equipment installation.
  • License in electrical, HVAC or other similar areas of licensing preferred
  • PLC / controls experience a plus
  • Previous PC/RF experience preferred; basic keyboarding skills; computer literate (knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word)
  • Maintain valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of lock-out/tag-out devices.
  • Ability to receive and maintain certification for operating company powered industrial equipment
  • Experienced in welding, carpentry, and plumbing
  • Ability to read flow charts, schematics, and blueprints
  • Knowledge of electronic test equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Working knowledge of conveyance systems, rollers, bearings, belts, chains…etc.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical issues
  • Ability to work independently or in team as assigned
  • Quality conscious and detail oriented
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Flexibility - will be required to perform other work duties, overtime and extended hours as needed


Work Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • Overtime as needed


Physical Requirements:

Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, and stoop for up to 8 hours at a time. Ability to work at heights (overhead conveyors, outbound trash line, sorter, etc.) by climbing stairs or ladder or use of scissor lift. Ability to work on all equipment throughout the facility – which will require the ability to bend, stoop, crawl, reach, work from knees or back to access equipment. Good hand/eye coordination. Ability to work in confined areas. Ability to work around moving machinery/equipment. Stand for duration of work shift and walk/move continuously. Adjust to climate changes; hot and cold extremes may occur in warehouse. Lift up to 60 pounds or more; some work duties require overhead lifting
