Learning and Development Manager

We foster a diverse team, and the work of the Learning & Development manager will meaningfully impact the wellbeing, productivity and development of all

 

  • Implement and facilitate trainings and leadership development programs throughout the Supply Chain. Deliver compelling in-person and virtual learning experiences across multiple sites and business units, using both designed in-house programs and those from external providers.
  • Mastery of existing learning and development content.
  • Evaluate learning & development performance – identify & track metrics
  • Learning needs assessment – work in partnership with HR and functional leaders; identify knowledge & skill gaps for targeted learning opportunities
  • Partner with HR teams cross functionally to leverage learning and development opportunities and implement activities
  • Identify & suggest opportunities for improvement and future development for the Supply Chain teams and broader organization
  • Leading learning and development community of practice across J. Crew Group
  • Development of presentation materials, implementation plans and processes for follow up and measurement of impact
  • Travel between Lynchburg, VA and Asheville, NC as needed Engage with multiple teams to help the business motivate, develop and retain talent

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills– a people person who builds relationships and gets things done Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a matrix environment
  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of learning experiences
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a willingness to be nimble and adapt
  • Ability and willingness to roll-up his/her sleeves, jump into the work, and drive consistent execution in a fast-moving environment with a “make it happen” attitude
  • Strong business understanding and ability to work from a practical, solution-oriented perspective
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites regularly and as needed

 

Education

  • A four-year College Degree in human resources management, business administration or related study, or three to five years of relevant experience
  • • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite

  • • experience working remotely preferably with Distribution Centers or stores
  • • Capability to coach at a variety of levels
  • • Knowledge of training techniques and classroom presentation skills
  • • Proven ability to create and deliver effective presentations to various audiences
  • • Highly organized with ability to multi-task and provide timely information to appropriate partners/agencies
  • • Ability to work independently, with little supervision
  • • Ability to maintain confidentiality (a must)

 

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • This job is primarily an office job. However, the position may require light lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, bending and stooping; climbing stairs as needed
  • • Stand, sit, walk/move for duration of work shift
  • • Type on keyboard / view computer screen for majority of work shift

 

Working Conditions

Primarily an office environment with some exposure to a DC/Warehouse environment
