Logistics Coordinator – Asheville, NC


The North American Transportation Team is responsible for the operations and strategic direction of domestic transportation and distribution of merchandise through J.Crew’s multi-channel supply chain.  The Logistics Coordinator monitors and manages exceptions and uses data to help drive process improvement.   To accomplish this, the coordinator will frequently partner with various internal stakeholders such as Planning, DC Operations, Inventory Management, Store Operations, and International logistics. In addition, this role will interact regularly with external partners such as 3PLs, Truckload Carriers and Parcel Carriers.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Interact with and maintain transportation systems
  • Proactive exception management of all domestic transportation activities to ensure on-time delivery
  • Analyze data sets, identify opportunities for improvement, and correlate data to real world transportation events
  • Maintain current SOP's
  • Clearly articulate & escalate issues (and wins) appropriately/timely
  • Report KPI's to provide a holistic summary on performance
  • Engage with a range of carrier and 3PL partners
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure process adoption
  • Analyze trends & validate data for monthly executive reporting
  • Understand 3rd party freight payment requirements, review discrepancies, maintain rate sheets
  • Evolve and improve existing tools for supply chain visibility


Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent work experience)
  • 1+ years of relevant industry experience with focus on logistics
  • Supply chain and retail, especially fashion/soft lines, experience a plus
  • Microsoft Office skills required with strong Excel required
  • TMS experience preferred
